Do I need an ESTA if I have a US visa?

If you have a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa, you do not need to apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) to travel to the United States. ESTA is required for citizens or nationals of ESTA Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries who are traveling to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without a visa. So, if you have a valid nonimmigrant visa such as B, F, or J visa, you are not subject to the restrictions of the VWP, and you can enter the US with your visa.

It’s worth noting that certain individuals with valid A, G, C-2, C-3, NATO, or diplomatic visas are also not required to obtain an ESTA.

If you are unsure of the type of visa you have, or if you have any questions about your eligibility to travel to the United States, it’s recommended to contact the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country, they will be able to provide you with more information on the type of visa you possess and if you are required to have an ESTA or not.
