A police official said the China High titanium iron Suppliers electric box was not locked at the spot so, after noticing it, a case of negligence was registered against the duo.A two-year-old child of a labourer died after coming into contact with a live wire in an electric meter box at an under-construction society in Malad on Monday.. Following the incident, Malad police was informed. Suddenly, he got singed after coming into contact with a live wire and fainted on the spot.The incident occurred at an under-construction building, Gopi Sadan, in Vijaykarwadi. Locals immediately rushed him to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. Police arrested both the site supervisor and security guard for negligence in connection with the case.During preliminary investigation, officials came to know that the electric meter box had a shutter and could be locked by the shutter. Keys of the shutter used to be with the security guard at all times. On Wednesday, both will be produced before the magistrate. But no efforts had been taken to lock the shutter at all. Police officials said the deceased was the son of a labourer, Shafiq-ul Shaikh. On Monday at around 11am, the child was playing near the meter box which was kept open. Hence, the police held the security guard and site supervisor responsible for the toddler’s death. Mr Shaikh stays in the same compound with his wife and son. Security guard, Krishna Acharya (36) and site supervisor, Ajay Jha (37) were booked for negligence under section 304 (A) of the IPC.
