Cut It Out

Whether it's a blunt fringe, short layers, dip-dye or a whole new shade of hair, the new year has brought with it the perfect opportunity to test out the most coveted hairstyles and hair trends sported by celebrities and street-style stars. Here’s what hairstylists and colourists predict would be the biggest hair trends of 2018.

The Bardot fringe

This year, ask for the 'Brigitte Bangs' – 'bangs' meaning a fringe to the non-American folks – which has been sported by the likes of Chloe Grace Moretz, Penelope Cruz, Taylor Swift, Goldie Hawn and many of our favourite Indian and Pakistani celebrities as well. If you are choosing this style, the key is to find the right one for your face. Have a consultation with your stylist, so they can assess your face shape and determine the perfect fringe for you. A fringe, when cut well, can work wonders and provides a great focal point.

The modern bob

While the bob will continue to be a firm favourite this year, we should expect to see it with a modern twist. This cut never goes out of fashion but we might see a different line in the bob – rather than a classic cut, expect shorter back and longer sides with soft-layered texture to enhance the movement of the hair cut.

Back to balayage

Everyone in the beauty world is adding a back-to-basics approach to their techniques, especially with balayage. There are so many offshoots of it, from strobing to denim to the newest tiger eye trend, but they are all created with the balayage freehand technique and so, are open to complete personal interpretation. Whether you have dark hair or light tones, there is a balayage colour for you. There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to colour which is why freehand creative painting would be the go-to application technique for this year. Take car of your colour with stylist recommended supplements and maintain its hue with a moisture shampoo.

No-haircut cuts

Now, this is a trend you should get onboard with. We all know people who spend thousands getting their hair to look perfect and spend the whole day and night looking at their reflections in car windows. Tip for this year: do what feels natural and stop worrying. To achieve the natural look, brush your hair before you washing them gently, so that they don't get super tangled. Then leave to dry completely naturally without even touching it to bring out its natural texture. Washing with a specially rich shampoo and conditioner and using a hair mask for treatment once a week, are rituals at hairstylists swear by.

Hair exfoliation

Thought exfoliating was only for skin? Think again. A big trend for 2018 is the detox to really cleanse your hair with a detoxing and exfoliating treatment for your scalp and hair. A sugar shine blowdry is a silicone-free, sugar-based scalp scrub that gently removes impurities. The water-soluble crystals melt in hair, softly removing build up from roots to ends and leaving them nourished. Softly scrubbed hair is the aim of the game here.

Contour colouring

Take the plunge with one of the biggest trends this year that highlights certain sections of the hair to extenuate your facial features. Contour colouring – otherwise known as 'contourage' – picks out light and dark shadowing round the face which contours the hair in a way similar to the make-up technique. Besides enhancing length and definition of the hair, it can also give more definition to bone structure and present a chiselled effect as well as highlighted skin tone, so it is a multi-flattering trend.Read more at:http://www.sheindressau.com/cheap-wedding-dresses-au | http://www.sheindressau.com/plus-size-wedding-dresses
