How to Officiate Your Friend’s Wedding

Congrats! You’ve been asked by your friends to officiate their wedding! As with many in these days and ages, friends turn to friends to help them mark that special occasion, preferring a tried-and-true pal over a reverend or professional officiant. This is a tremendous honor I was fortunate to fulfill for not one but two very different and wonderful weddings, and I learned a few things along the way.
You can become an officiant speedily and freely online, and then it is up to you to file the marriage license within 10 days to the County Clerk at our beautiful S.B County Courthouse. Be very careful not to make any errors on the license, as penmanship mistakes will result in a fine and a new license will need to be filed; the same goes for coffee or beverage stains. The California Department of Public Health has a FAQ section about wedding laws on their website, and you’d do best to review it.

Officiating a wedding is an important responsibility as you are legalizing a marriage, so you must follow the law. In many cases, you will also be sanctifying the union in a religious way, so you may have to consider and follow the religious rites.
Beyond the rules and laws, you should be as individual as possible. No one needs clichés about love or the same old statements about compromise and patience; think of your friends’ marriage as a unique love story. Maybe it’s the journalist in me, but I’d suggest just talking to or even interviewing them as a couple, learning their story — how they met and why they’re choosing to officially combine their life journeys, and what they love about one another. And remember, you must have a reservoir of great memories of times shared with your friends, times of abundant love and friendship — this is a chance to talk about what they’ve taught you about love and what they’ve learned from each other.
Last, write out your speech in advance, and take time to practice, ensuring these important words runs smoothly on the actual day. This is your honor to say something truly meaningful, to pronounce your friends married, so take the time to know the laws, and create an unforgettable moment for those who mean a lot to you.

Amanda Seyfried won’t be having a white wedding.The “Mean Girls” actress said she doesn’t want a traditional wedding dress when she marries fiancé Thomas Sadoski."I got married so many times in my life — on screen!” Seyfried, 31, told Vogue Australia, according to Us magazine. "I don't want a white dress! I've worn so many of them. You know what I mean? The fact is, that kind of stuff is less about the ceremony and more about the commitment."Seyfried and Sadoski got engaged in September after dating for six months.
The actress’ rep confirmed in November that Seyfried is pregnant with her first child.
The couple met while working together on the play “The Way We Get By” in 2015, then reunited on the set of the 2016 movie “The Last World.”
"I don't want to be the center of attention," Seyfried told Vogue Australia. “I get to go to premieres and get dressed up all the time. I went to the Met Gala last year in a wedding gown designed by Riccardo Tisci; I've played a bride a billion times.”
While a billion might be a slight exaggeration, Seyfried has walked down the aisle in “Mamma Mia,” “Les Miserables” and “The Big Wedding.”
Her white Armani Privé dress at the 2010 Oscars was bridal as well.

Could it be any more romantic than to get hitched in the most dreamy setting with monsoon as the background? Well, our TV celebs are certainly making good use of this year’s heavy showers to get tie the knot! While people did call this year a jinx with respect to relationships breaking apart, we can’t ignore the fact that so many couples even got married! From Karan Singh Grover-Bipasha Basu to now Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya, we’ve witnessed a lot of marriages this year. And adding names to the list, we now have Sambhavna Seth and her boyfriend of five years, Avinash Dwivedi! So if you guys remember, yesterday we did share some pre wedding photoshoot pics of the cute couple.

Turns out, she actually shed immense number of kilos to look her bridal best for her wedding day. Isn’t that sweet? For the guest list, there will be a lot of her school friends who’ll be present for the wedding. She quoted, “Many of my school friends are coming down from abroad for this occasion.” Looks like this one’s gonna be one rocking wedding! We wish them a happy life! BRIDE-TO-BE Shanina Shaik enjoyed a mermaid wedding dress rehearsal of her special day when she walked the catwalk aisle at a bridal fashion show in Paris.
The gorgeous 25-year-old Aussie model set the catwalk alight in backless wedding dress made by local designers Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo as part of their Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2016/2017 collection for Ralph & Russo.
Supermodel Shaik is soon to wed disc jockey DJ Ruckus, aka Greg Andrews, after announcing their engagement earlier this year.
So excited by her impending nuptials Shaik tweeted: “The Dress’ @ralphandrusso good practice for my big day.”
Shaik began dating 32-year-old Andrews a few months after her split with male model Tyson Beckford, who she had an on-and-off romance after meeting him on the set of Make Me a Supermodel in 2008. They called off their relationship last year.
