When it comes to clothes, I’m fashionably late
weddings×54
Miscellaneous vestiges from the past including colourful shirts and outdated trousers may well take up wardrobe space.
When I am told by younger voices to get with it, I reply, no! I’m retired and I’ll wear what I like.
Besides, some of the clothes might come back into fashion one day. OK, I’ll admit I do need to scrub up for the occasional birthday or anniversary, but on the whole, I’m happy to venture out in my track-pants or shorts and a T-shirt.
Sure, I know all the quotes from Shakespeare that apparel proclaims the man, and by Fuller that “good clothes open all doors”. Except that at my age, I don’t need doors opening for me. I’ll dress as I please.
Even on aeroplanes I prefer to be comfortable rather than dressed for a night out.
Some years ago, I went to the Victoria Derby in Melbourne. There were thousands of guys in three-piece suits in the non-members area in 30C temperatures. In my shorts and T-shirt, I was the most comfortable person on the course surrounded by 90,000 very hot people.
And while at the races, let me take a risk and include women’s fashions in the conversation for a brief moment. French writer Anatole France once said, “Only men not interested in women are interested in women’s clothing. Men who like women, never notice what they wear.” (That one is going to get me into deep trouble from my female friends.)
OK then, I’ll admit even at my age there is a certain standard to be maintained.
Samuel Johnson said that “a man in a good coat meets with a better reception than a man in a bad coat”. So even being retired, I’m trapped to be part of a standard.
Oscar Wilde, always known for wearing some interesting clothes once said, “With an evening coat and a white tie, even a stockbroker can gain a reputation for being civilised”. Goodness knows what he may have said about them if he had been about during the Global Financial Crisis.
In his Devil’s Dictionary, Ambrose Bierce pointed out, “Fashion is a despot whom the wise ridicule and then seem to obey”. So, it seems I will eventually succumb and throw out my clothes from yesteryear and replace them with something more up to date.
But before I do I am hopeful that one day someone might mistakenly approach me with the words of one who approached writer John Steinbeck as he travelled around the US. Steinbeck was accosted with the words, “You must be extremely rich to dress as badly as you do”.Read more at:http://www.sheindressau.com/short-wedding-dresses | http://www.sheindressau.com/backless-wedding-dresses-au

Anushka and Meghan are living a fairytale: Priyanka Chopra
weddings×54
Everyone and their mothers have been obsessed with Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, and it comes as no surprise that Bollywood’s ‘desi girl’ has also jumped on the bandwagon.
At the Zee Awards 2018, Priyanka Chopra was asked about the #Virushka wedding and the upcoming royal wedding of Prince Harry with Suits actor Meghan Markle to which PeeCee responded, “It is a fairy tale for both Meghan and Anushka, two people I know really well. They have this fairytale which is really great to see. I’m so happy for them,” reported Pinkvilla.
Priyanka is expected to attend Virushka’s wedding reception in Mumbai on December 26, 2017. It has also been reported that she will allegedly serve as Meghan’s maid of honour.
The two first met at a party in Toronto and it seems like they haven’t really stopped hanging out ever since. When the news of Meghan and Prince Harry’s engagement broke the internet, the Quantico starlet was one of the first ones to congratulate them. And now, Priyanka will supposedly walk down the aisle as Meghan’s bridesmaid on her wedding in May, 2018.
During the awards night, Priyanka also revealed her own marriage plans, “Marriage is not something that can be planned. If I find somebody… somebody that’s suitable, then I will tie the knot. But I haven’t found that special someone yet.”
The superstar has previously stated that she is definitely open to marriage, “Marriage is definitely on the cards but will happen when the time is right. It will happen when it is destined to.”
She added, “If I do decide to take the plunge, it would be with someone who understands and supports me. At the end of the day, two people make a relationship work. It will take understanding and prioritisation from both.”
Priyanka was questioned about her opinion over the Padmavati ban at the red carpet where the actor said, “I have an incredible relationship with Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB) and I admire him tremendously.”
She continued, “I know this film will eventually be released and people will ultimately see the art and hard work behind it. Naturally, the team just have to make sure everything is sorted.”
I will always stand by not just Sanjay sir but also the Padmavati’s cast, especially Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.”
Priyanka has always been one of SLB’s muse. She has previously delivered a power packed performance in Bajirao Mastani. Other than that, PeeCee also did a dance number titled Ram Chahe Leela in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
On the work front, Priyanka’s fans are waiting to see her in some Bollywood movies while she continues to leave a global impact.Read more at:http://www.sheindressau.com/black-bridesmaid-dresses-au | http://www.sheindressau.com/bridesmaid-dresses-melbourne

A wedding planner on the dos and don’ts of seating charts
weddings×54
Few wedding planning tasks strike fear into a bride or groom’s heart like the dreaded seating plan. Unless you’re an organisational fanatic, it’s highly likely you’re not looking forward to completing your seating chart - after all, it’s a game of juggling, editing and revising. Add into the mix a difficult family or friends that have since become foes and things get testing. Vogue quizzed Sydney-based wedding event planner, Philip Carr, on the dos and don’ts when it comes to seating plans, so you can tick this off your to-do list with ease.
How far out from the wedding should a bride approach the seating plan?
“Initially one would do a floor plan with the estimated maximum guests based on the invited list and expected attendees up to six months out once the venue is decided,” Carr says. “Look at it again a few weeks before when all the replies are in. From there, there is continual updating as some guests cancel last minute and seating arrangements get moved around.”
Where should one start? Do you have an app or program you recommend that people at home can copy?
“We get the room CADD [computer-aided designed] with our seating design. We then supply the client with a page which has a copy of the individual tables and a numerical list which positions each person at the table. It also has a column for dietary requirements.”
How should one approach seating family or friends who don't get along?
“The perk of fashionable long tables [is] seating guests a few seats away from each other on the same side of the table reduces the chance of making contact with one another. If the room has round tables, it’s a matter of positioning them in such a way that they should not have eye contact.
Often, we have had parents that have had multiple marriages when new partners are involved that don’t get along. We can seat people facing different directions. It is amazing how they can avoid eye contact with each other at an event.”
What about singles?
“Singles do not want to be treated as social pariahs. I recommend seating people in groups that will be good for the party. Sometimes it’s quite good to mix people up a bit to create a bit of social interest. I think old people in the family should be set in a place that is respectful (possibly nearer main table) but also away from the speakers.”Read more at:http://www.sheindressau.com/backless-wedding-dresses-au | http://www.sheindressau.com/mermaid-wedding-dresses-au
